NJ Skylands Region |
The Skylands Region refers to Northwest New Jersey and includes the counties of Morris, Somerset, Hunterdon, Warren, and Sussex. The region's rustic nature is perfectly complemented by many vigorous towns and villages that offer wonderful entertainment, shopping and dining opportunities, fine museums, theaters and accommodations that satisfy the most sophisticated traveler. |
NJ Gateway Region |
New Jersey’s Gateway Region covers the northeastern counties of Passaic, Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Union and Middlesex, which are along the Hudson River and NY/NJ Harbor. Highlights of this region include waterfront and port communities, cultural influences from immigration and naval history. |
NJ Delaware River Region |
New Jersey’s Delaware River Region covers the central to southern counties of Mercer, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem, which are along the Delaware Bay Shore. Highlights of this region include historic districts and Delaware Valley communities, early cultures of African-Americans, Native Americans and European settlers, military history and lighthouses. |
NJ Shore Region |
The Shore Region of the state of New Jersey encompasses Monmouth and Ocean Counties, and is often called the Jersey Shore. Traditionally a leader in tourism, the shore region holds 15.1% of the state's tourism, ranking 3rd in New Jersey. Since both counties have long stretches of beach, most of the tourism money is generated from the near shore areas of this region. |
NJ Atlantic City Region |
New Jersey’s Greater Atlantic City Region covers the southern county of Atlantic, which is along the Atlantic Coast. Highlights of this region include seaside communities and historic buildings, boardwalk history, lighthouses, fishing heritage and military history. |
NJ Southern Shore Region |
New Jersey’s Southern Shore Region covers the southern – most counties of Cumberland and Cape May, which border both the Delaware Bay Shore and the Atlantic Coast. Highlights of this region include historic districts, seaside and farming communities, shipwrecks, whaling, fishing and boating heritage, lighthouses, Victorian architecture and early cultures of African – Americans, Native Americans and European settlers.
