New Jersey Southern Shore Region
New Jersey’s Southern Shore Region covers the southern – most counties of Cumberland and Cape May, which border both the Delaware Bay Shore and the Atlantic Coast. Highlights of this region include historic districts, seaside and farming communities, shipwrecks, whaling, fishing and boating heritage, lighthouses, Victorian architecture and early cultures of African – Americans, Native Americans and European settlers.

Cumberland County's remarkable transformation is the result of collaboration among
government, cultural institutions, municipalities, community and educational
organizations, tourism interests, the media and business.

The County is not only a model rural cultural destination, but most importantly, a place cherished by those who live there.

The area is primarily part of Greater Philadelphia with the exception of Mercer County, which is part of the New York City Metropolitan Area. It is one of six officially recognized tourism regions, the others being the Greater Atlantic City Region, the Skylands Region, the Southern Shore Region, the Shore Region and the Gateway Region.
