New Jersey Delaware River Region
New Jersey’s Delaware River Region covers the central to southern counties of Mercer, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem, which are along the Delaware Bay Shore. Highlights of this region include historic districts and Delaware Valley communities, early cultures of African-Americans, Native Americans and European settlers, military history and lighthouses.

The Delaware River Region refers to an area in western New Jersey along the Delaware River border with Pennsylvania. It encompasses Burlington County, Camden County, Gloucester County, Mercer County, and Salem County.

The area is primarily part of Greater Philadelphia with the exception of Mercer County, which is part of the New York City Metropolitan Area. It is one of six officially recognized tourism regions, the others being the Greater Atlantic City Region, the Skylands Region, the Southern Shore Region, the Shore Region and the Gateway Region.

The New Jersey Register of Historic Places, mirrors the National Register of Historic Places, and uses the same criteria for eligibility. Most counties have historical societies and many municipalities assign historic designation or preservation status. The New Jersey Historical Society maintains archives and promotes research.

Milford is

Frenchtown NJ is the kind of place people go looking for when they take to the byways and the “scenic routes” dotted in green on the highway maps. It comes as a surprise and delight to those who find it by chance. This is a town to be enjoyed at length, a place where curiosity is rewarded by an array of things to see and do

Stockton, NJ is another great river town in the Delaware region. Home of the annual Shad Festival the old town has some great restarants and galleries.

Lambertville NJ is larger than it's sister towns of Stocton and Frenchtown.
